Dr Adams' knowledge and extensive practical training with Traumatic Brain Injury, Cognitive Impairment, and attention deficit disorder ensures you and your loved ones receive a tailored assessment specific to your needs. These tailored batteries allow her to provide you, your family, and primary healthcare specialist, if desired, with a comprehensive report. She will meet with you and your family to explain the results and address any questions, comments, or concerns that arise.

How long is the assessment?
The initial consultation typically lasts between 1-2 hours. The time will vary dependent on many factors such as the complexity of your condition, personal information, and addressing any questions you may have about the evaluation.
You will return on another day for your assessment, which can take between 3-6 hours, or more, depending on complexity. Although evaluations can often be completed in one day, two appointments and/or two testing days may be needed. The time varies based on presenting concerns/symptoms, the number of assessments Dr. Adams orders, and your ability to tolerate the evaluation. Time will be allotted for short breaks and lunch.
The follow-up visit with Dr. Adams typically lasts 30 minutes to 1 hour, though more time may be needed to allow ample time to discuss the results of your assessment, potential diagnosis, and/or treatment recommendations. She will also address any comments, questions, or concerns that arise. Dr. Adams’ comprehensive final report will be provided to you and your referring provider and/or primary healthcare provider(s), if desired.
We are commonly asked "how long does the entire process take?" There is no definitive answer to this question though we strive to make all the step’s progress as smooth and as quickly as we can. A general estimate would be that you will meet with Dr. Adams for your initial consultation, with the testing appointment scheduled for a later date. The feedback/follow-up appointment to receive your results will be scheduled for a later date, if testing is completed on that testing day. If testing is not completed that day, we will reschedule a second appointment. There will be exceptions to estimated times and dates for your results as well as expedited situations, which we will discuss as they occur.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
You will need to bring in your completed intake packet, consent forms, insurance card(s), a government issued state ID card (with picture), previous assessment records, and any relevant medical, psychological, or academic records. If someone else will participate in the initial intake appointment, they are welcome to do so; however, the patient will typically participate in testing alone with Dr. Adams. Dr. Adams will take this information into consideration when completing your comprehensive report.
How can I prepare for my neuropsychological assessment?
There is no need to study for the assessment. Here are some helpful suggestions:
Get a good night's rest the evening before your evaluation
Eat a healthy breakfast or lunch before arriving (we recommend this even if you are not someone who usually eats breakfast as the assessment may last for 3 to 5 or more hours)
Bring any medication(s) you may need to take during the day/your appointment
Bring something to drink (we have a small refrigerator & water) & preferred snacks
Eyeglasses
Hearing aid(s)
A jacket or coat if you tend to feel cold

Neuropsychological Evaluations cost $1850 to $3050 per evaluation depending on complexity. While some memory evaluations may be at the lower end, many will be midrange, but an example of a more complex evaluation (at the upper end of the range) may be for memory and language problems, ADHD, and autism, etc. The fee includes all evaluations, report preparation, and consultation.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (Children Ages 3-17) cost $1950 to $2250 per evaluation. The fee includes all evaluations, report preparation, and consultation.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (Adolescents & Adults) cost $2250 per evaluation. The fee includes all evaluations, report preparation, and consultation.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (Children Ages 5-9) cost $2050 per evaluation. The fee includes all evaluations, report preparation, and consultation.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (Pediatric Ages 3 to 4) cost $1850 per evaluation. The fee includes all evaluations, report preparation, and consultation.
*Intellectual Disability Evaluation cost $2250 to $3050 per evaluation. The fee includes all evaluations, report preparation, and consultation.
*Gifted Evaluation (Children & Adolescents Ages 5 to 17). cost $2250 to $2650 per evaluation. The fee includes all evaluations, report preparation, and consultation.
*Specific Learning Disability cost $2250 to $2650 per evaluation. The fee includes all evaluations, report preparation, and consultation.
*Insurance companies expect these type of evaluations to be conducted through the school system and will typically not reimburse for them; however, these type of assessments* may be covered if warranted/ medically necessary if there are multiple diagnoses being considered.
Please contact our office for additional details. We will also provide a detailed cost analysis through a "Good Faith Estimate" (for self-pay) or **"No Surprises Act" (as insurance cover part of the claim with you being responsible for evaluating these specific areas).
Neuropsychological Evaluation for Transplant Surgery cost $2050 per evaluation. The fee includes all evaluations, report preparation, and consultation.
Cancellation Policy:
If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment and have not notified us at least 24-hours in advance, your account can be assessed a $50.00 cancellation fee. You will be required to pay the fee in full prior to scheduling another session. Please understand that by not providing us with advanced notice of cancelling a session, we are unable to fill that spot.
