What is an Educational Evaluation
An educational evaluation utilizes standardized test to identify strengths and weaknesses regarding learning. The results of the assessment are then compared with others of similar demographics like backgrounds, ages, education, and location. These results can give you a better understanding of your learning abilities to increase the chance of success.
Evaluations vary in length but prepare for several hours.
Dr. Adams' evaluation can assess social and emotional functioning, background, developmental history, cognitive processing, and academic functioning. The assessment is extensive and will result in comprehensive report.

What happens after the evaluation
Dr. Adams will provide you with a report and explain the results. She will then provide recommendations and strategies tailored to your needs, strengths, and weaknesses. During this time, she will provide feedback and address any questions, comments, or concerns that may arise. Her diagnosis/ diagnoses can assist in next steps for treatment planning, interventions, and/or obtaining accommodations (IEP, 504 Accommodations).

*Educational/academic evaluations are not typically covered by insurance, though other aspects of your evaluation may be; therefore, there may be a charge for the aspect of the evaluation that is academic/educational.
