What is an Educational Evaluation
An educational evaluation utilizes standardized test to identify a child's strengths and weaknesses. The results of the assessment are then compared with children of similar demographics like backgrounds, ages, education, and location. These results give the parents a better understanding of their child's needs, and the child gains a greater chance of success.
Evaluations vary in length but prepare for several hours.
Dr. Adams' evaluation will assess a child's social and emotional functioning, background, developmental history, cognitive processing, and academic functioning. The assessment is extensive and will result in comprehensive report.

What happens after the evaluation
Dr. Adams will provide you with a report and explain the results. She will then provide recommendations and strategies tailored to your child's needs, strengths, and weaknesses. During this time, she will provide feedback and address any questions, comments, or concerns that may arise. Her diagnosis/diagnoses can assist in next steps for treatment planning, interventions, and/or obtaining accommodations (IEP, 504 Accommodations).
